Our Facilities

The first wing of our Skilled Nursing Facility was built in 1984, and we have made continuous improvements and additions until we are now a 180 bed facility. We offer both private and semi-private rooms, as well as rooms tailored specifically for Short-Term Rehab residents, Long-Term residents and Memory Impaired residents.

Beautifully landscaped grounds, garden areas and a peaceful courtyard bring outdoor enjoyment to residents.

Considered by the County of Okeechobee as one of the safest facilities in the area for Hurricane Shelters, Okeechobee Health Care has certified hurricane shutters, poured concrete construction and multiple backup systems to keep your family members and our staff safe in the event of a hurricanes or bad weather.  Our call systems are constantly monitored from a central station, and the entire facility is protected by a double sprinkler system and smoke detectors. A night security guard further enhances our safe environment.

 Building Layouts

Convenience, function, safety, comfort and a homey feeling… all these have been taken into consideration when planning, furnishing and decorating our facilities. This includes all common places such as nurses’ stations, reception desks, dining rooms, recreation and therapy areas.

This same dedication is carried through to our spacious private and semi-private rooms. Residents can even accessorize their surroundings with personal belongings to enhance an individualized, homey feeling.

If choosing a semi-private room, every effort is made to pair residents with similar interests and needs.

Private and semi-private rooms feature:

  • Windows in every room
  • Private bathroom with large shower alcove
  • Writing desk with chair
  • Custom made wardrobe/display cabinet
  • Fully adjustable bed
  • Bedside table
  • Telephone
